Spring 2013 Online Tutoring for Math, Statistics, and Writing

Online Math/Statistics

Online Math tutoring is available to students from 10:00pm to midnight Sunday-Thursday. Students may access online tutoring by visiting uga.wimba.com and clicking on one of the following tutoring rooms: Academic Enhancement Free MATH 1101, MATH 1113, and STAT 2000 Tutoring or Academic Enhancement Free MATH 2200/2250 Tutoring.

Online Writing

This is an instructional service to help students become stronger and more confident writers, not a proofreading or editing service. Please review our Writing Tutoring Policies. If this is your first time making an appointment, please click here for instructions on how to create an account in TutorTrac. If you have already created a TutorTrac account, you can make an appointment by clicking here.

Online Writing Appointment Procedure:

Before submitting your paper for an online writing tutoring session, you must first make an appointment in TutorTrac. At or before your appointment time, e-mail your paper to writutor@uga.edu as an attachment. In your e-mail message, please include the following information:

1.    Your nine digit UGA 810 number
2.    The time and date of your online appointment
3.    A brief description of the assignment and some guidance on the areas you would like your tutor to focus on (organization, word choice, grammar, etc.).
4.    Your paper should be saved in rich text format (.rtf).
5.    Your tutor will read your paper during your appointment time, write feedback in the margin, and email your paper back to you at the end of the appointment time. Tutors cannot promise to provide feedback on the entire paper, but they will read as much as they can in the time available.
6.    You must send your paper at or before the time of your appointment. If you send your paper more than fifteen minutes late or do not send it at all, you will be considered as a “no show” for your online appointment.
7.    If you wish to cancel your appointment, you must do so 48 hours ahead of time.
8.    You may submit your paper online only if you have made an online appointment in TutorTrac. For all other appointments, please attend your appointment location (Milledge Hall, the Boyd Science Library, or the Aderhold Writing Center) in person.
